To book, you should usually follow these steps:
Open the Airbnb website
Sign in or set up an account, if you haven't already done so. Registration can take a while. This includes checking your telephone number and downloading your ID.
Specify the location and date(s) you are looking for, then start searching for a location that is available, using the site's different filters to personalize your search.
When you have found the ideal accommodation, make a reservation or book it – sometimes reservations will not be fully validated until the guest accepts.
Pay for the accommodation and receive the notification of your reservation, including the address where you are going to stay. For longer stays, it is possible to organize a payment plan through which you will pay an initial deposit and the rest in installments.
The main law of the State of New York, which forbids short-term occupation, and in turn the use of Airbnb, is the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law (MDL).
The MDL applies to residential buildings of three or more dwellings and does not apply to single-family or two-parent homes
